Hunting North Carolina

Six Runs Plantation offers over 1,000 acres of the finest bobwhite quail hunting between Raleigh and Wilmington, North Carolina. A river plantation, Six Runs is a working farm where the habitat has been designed and planted for the optimum in wild covey shooting. Whether the covey rises from a pine grove or a broomsedge field, hunters will enjoy the thrilling sport of covey shooting as their forefathers experienced it. While quail is the primary game sought at Six Runs, there are abundant populations of ducks, wild turkeys, and deer. Ring neck pheasant and chukar partridge are also available for the hunter's pleasure. Beavers living on Six Runs River have formed a number of ponds that offer haven to a large population of wild wood and mallard ducks. There are many permanent deer stands positioned throughout the woods on the plantation offering the aspiring deer hunter the chance at a trophy buck. There are 50 different breeding plots on the grounds providing for excellent bird concentrations. We have planted a variety of grains including Egyptian wheat, grain sorghum, partridge peas, Florida beggarweed, lespedezas, and millet. With plenty of underbrush and cover for habitat, Six Runs is overrun with game. Some of the finest English and Irish setters are here to assist you in your hunt. Many of these fine dogs have been campaigned in national competitions. We are very proud of our dogs and know you will be too. Most of our hunting starts from a Toyota 4-wheel drive 4Runner which hold up to three hunters, but hunters may choose to walk or ride our Tennessee walking horses. Trap Shooting is offered to those hunters wishing to brush up on their shooting skills. Guns, shells, and licenses are available.
